My experince with CJ is that are getting worse and worse. My last 4 questions via the control panel have gone unanswered, their status changes to solved but there are no replies, i update them saying there was no response and guess what? Thats right, i get no response. I tried emailing to the addresses showing in there contact us and guess what? Thats right, no reply. Still waiting for this months cheque and still waiting for programs where the publisher has increased their commission payments to be updated. They seem crap these days. Whats YOUR experience?

I've found that using one of the affiliate networks produces lower results than being an affiliate of a site that runs it's own affiliate program. Granted, I've not tried all the affiliate networks, and if someone would recomend one, and no one else objected to it, I might try it, as it's easier to find programs that way.

However, the personal attention, reporting methods, and responses to email inquiries when you're dealing with a company that runs their own affiliate program is so much better, that the affiliates in turn produce better results as they have better information to work with.

A site that runs its own affiliate program needs to work harder to find and recruit affiliates than just by joining a network like CJ, but as an affiliate, I much prefer to work with those sites.

Has anyone ever done an analysis of results of running your own affiliate program as opposed to joining a network and if the affiliates produce better on one or the other or if total sales are better in one way or another? That would be intersting to see.
