Wow, can't believe this one is coming in the new upgrade. Affiliates won't be able to see merchant chargeback rates. Lots of upset affiliates complaining on other boards.

I'm amazed that CJ is removing information that is so critical to affiliates. I can really see how this could affect affiliate's ability to make wise decisions.

I have a new client that I am working with who gets 1 million page views a day. I am going to be setting up and managing numerous affiliate programs to monetize his site. I was counting on the charge-back reporting to better enable me to pick good honest paying Merchants. This is a Baaaaaaddddd move!

Linda,

Where did CJ announce this? I don't see it posted on their website and I haven't received an email from them announcing such a change.

Todd Crawford CJ's main BB spokesman announced and or confirmed it and gave reasoning on 2 other boards. Don't think I can post where I read it. Thought about copying his comments here but that may be a no-no. Trust me though it's true (according to Todd.) Affiliates and merchangts alike are very opposed to this change so you never know, they may not do it. But according to Todd charge back numbers are not very reliable for a big number of reasons and he says affiliates will be able to figure out chargeback rates somewhat by checking EPC, but people do not seem to be buying that one.

Yes ,
I agree why would cj remove this very important piece of information. Besides removing the chargback % they are also removing the % reversals that were were able to see for each merchant. These %'s are very important to the affiliates. Hiding them protects the merchants. I do not understand the reasoning behind this. Actually what cj should be doing is dropping the merchants that have over a certain amount of chargebacks not protecting them.

Linda,

Could you sticky me with the URL of other affiliate discussion boards. I'm looking for communities like this one to bump ideas around in.

Thanks,
Deb
