Why do we let CJ get away with this?

passing the risk of default to publishers.

I recently had a merchant default on payment. They are blaming CJ and CJ , of course is blaming them.

My question is why doesn't CJ ensure that all merchants have an appropriate balance to cover all leads/sales commissions in REAL TIME.

It's interesting that CJ grants a credit to advertisers without risk to themselves. I, as a publisher, did not approve credit to be granted to this merchant. CJ should ensure that advertisers have the sufficient funds in REAL TIME to cover all leads/sales commissions. Why the heck do I even need a third party verifier when they can't even ensure that publishers are paid!

Why do we continue to let them get away with this?

i used to use cj, and that same thing has happened to me on more than one occasion. Either an advertiser does not pay or they go out of business - whatever. doesnt matter to me.
I still served the ads on my site and generated leads, etc. I did my part - but i did not get paid. And supposedly neither did CJ. But I agree with you. CJ should hold an escrow account on their advertisers. However - I did agree to their terms & conditions so there was nothing I could do. So my only retaliation was to stop using them. I did that over 2 years ago and never looked back. I get paid every month now and have for 2 years.
