if it were a Pay Per Click, it might work, but there will be too many people who CLICK and don't BUY.
Just my opinion.
Since I run a site related to a kind of antiques it might work OK. I'd be using Ebay as an affiliate right now but I don't like CJ.

However if they gave 35% of ebays sale commission then it may well work.
I'd stick with adsense and collect on each click.
In high paying industries (car sales for example) 35% of eBays commission could be substantial. One sale a day might be all you need to make a good living.

Ebay has had a javascript advertising tag for websites for many years and the only difference is that they now have a contextual option instead of the webmaster manually selecting a search query.
I abandoned it and switched to adsense out of tracking frustrations. It's very annoying seeing thousands of clicks and no commission. Stick with ppc.

Really? I didn't realise they capped them.
You might be right then - it'll be interesting to see what eBay do in order to actually compete with the likes of AdSense in that context.

Rather than a % of eBay's commission when a click leads to a sale (or presumably a winning auction bid), 'sale' could mean the act of clicking an ad. So if eBay charges sellers on a per click basis to participate, a sale would be a click and the 35%-60% would be a percentage of the revenue eBay receives for the click. Just a thought...
Otherwise, publishers will get about the same amount for a 'sale' on eBay as a click on G or Y. What would be the point of that?

Who would eBay get this revenue from the click? This would mean that eBay is paying itself.
The percentage quoted is based on the fees the seller pays eBay if you send them the winning bidder. If someone clicks an eBay link from your site, bids on an item but doesn't win then you get nothing.
eBAy could cgharge sellers extra for inclusion in the AdContext Scheme - the same way it does for other services. The benefit to the seller would be wider exposure for the auctionand thus, a potentially higher winning bid.
It seems, however, that I was wrong and it will be a % of eBay's earnings from a sale or winning bid. I can't see the attraction of that at all.
Why sign-up for a scheme that is paid per action when the CPA is liable to be tiny?

For eBay affiliates: What does this mean? If the user goes directly back to eBay in order to increase their bid, does the referrer get a commission or not?
I wonder if the new user referral is more valuable than the actual commission on sales?
