Which part of the website is the best place to place your affiliate link or the link of the company whose products you're promoting?

One fo the best places is in the actual text of whatever it is your describing.

What eljefe3 said - When you write a review, for example, have a link to the product right there so visitors don't have a chance to forget about it. And many people have found text links to work the best.

I'm wondering about your use of the singular "link". Unless you're in an affiliate program that doesn't allow you to link to individual products, you want to be as specific and targeted as possible. General banner ads, for example, have very low conversion as affiliate links, probably because you have to get people to buy, not just click. Give customers enough information about a product that when they click on its link they're actually thinking about buying it.
