Things are going well so far, but we have noticed that one of the affiliates who has signed up to our campaign is now running Adword campaigns promoting our service. This particular affiliates makes more comission than any other affiliate, presumably because of these adwords.
I don't have a huge issue with affiliates doing this as it drives more traffic to our site and generates even more sales for us - especially if the adwords are running on terms that we don't pay for ourselves.
However, my concerns is the multiple domains that could end up pointing at our main site.
Our site sits on the .com version of the domain. The affiliate is pointing his adword campaign to the .co.uk version (which has a 301 redirect to the .com).
We are thinking of releasing another few domains for affiliates to use, but wanted to get some feedback on whether this was good or bad practice and whether or not we could be penalised for it.
We have parked domains along the lines of:
www.Particular-Service-OurCompany.com
www.Another-Particular-Service-OurCompany.com
www.OurCompany-Service.com
etc ...
We would simply put 301 redirects under each of these to the main .com URL.
Using 301's should in theory make this OK, but are there any repercussions to having several OurCompany related domains in the Adwords?
The company running our affiliate programme seem think this is fine and that it happens a lot.
