Couple of noobie affiliate link questions

im sure someone can easily help me with these :)

If a customer comes to my affiliate site and clicks on a link for product A, but then buys product B on the merchant site, would i get the commission for this?

2)
If the customer comes to my affiliate site and clicks on the link for product A, looks around the merchant site for a while, goes to lots of different pages, then finally buys product A, do i get the commission?

I hope my questions make sense.
