Hi everyone, I'm new here and new to affiliate programs. This seems like a very knowledgeable community - I'm glad I foud it.

Anyhow, I'm thinking about trying some form of PPC to merchant plan. Or PPC to landing page to merchant.

After you do your research it seems the general consensus is that you need to test out various campaigns and tweak 'em till you get a winning combination. So my question is, what kind of ad budget should I plan for (under average circumstances) to give myself a good shot?

2) What would be good affiliates programs to start with - not products - but programs where I can start looking at various products to figure out what I'd like to promote.

3) Other than reading this forum - do you recommend any other resources? Most of my searching has only led to spam - how to get rich quick while doing no work books for sale.

Ad budget-- Really depends on how much you have. For some programs people $100 is enough, for others $1000 isn't enough.

Programs-- look at the bigger networks like cj, linkshare etc. to get an idea of the variety of programs out there. Once you see something you like, look for that industry or product in a serach engine and look for " affiliate program that industry" to see what comes up.

Other areas for learning-- Forums are a great source, so if you want to learn more about affiliate marketing, do a search for "affiliate marketing forum" and peruse the various fora to find the ones you like.
