Hi

Been a lurker here for over a year and, boy, what a year :) I have learned here a lot. I even do my web related searches on google using site:webmaterworld.com :) So, when I had a question I didn't find a good answer, who do you think I would ask? :)

Anyway, back to the problem at hand:

I live in Romania. This means that affiliate business is somekind of a joke, with no payment online whatsoever, with odd consumer behaviour (he/she checks my site for info and goes to the store to buy, even if they provide online payment means).

Anyway, the other day I was thinking that it may still be business after all. What if I recommend a catering service, write their phone number and find a way to track those calls?

So, the question, finally, is: do you know of a way to track orders without cookies and so on (anything online, actually). How can I tell to the store that the phone is coming because of my site? More, how can I see if the store owner doesn't cross me?

Thanks :)

Welcome to WebmasterWorld!

Could you have them print out some sort of coupon or promotional code where the visitor takes this to the local store. If things got cranked up for you, you could even have the coupon code numbered so you could track visitors, but for starters having something that they could print out and take to the store might be a good start to see if something like is will work.
