Masking Affiliate Names

Is subsitituting your name for an affilaite name OK

A lot of affiliate programmes I have come across say they allow their partners to redirect a domain name (which is similar to the partners main website name) to replace the affiliate domain name, in front of all the other variables passed in a URL string. So, it looks like that when affiliate pages are loaded up its part of the same website the link came from.

Is this OK or is it considered masking/cloaking, I have read more and more about this.

I didn't make it very clear, I mean getting a domain name and point it to a main affiliate IP address.

So mulitiple doamin names will point to one IP.

More and more affiliate schemes encourage this but is it OK doing this?
