How to bring in affiliates

Hello all

i look after a website that has recently set up as a merchant on a UK affilite network.

We have a good offering so it should just be a case of making it visible. What are peoples methods for bringing in new affiliates?

Hi Hughie,

You could post on a few affiliate forums (see sticky). Also, try offering higher commission for the first few months. Most affiliates are lazy - 95% won't remove your links when you drop the commission slightly. Finally, why wait for good affiliates to find you? Actively e-mail appropriate sites in your niche.

Thanks for the sticky, we're already on a few forums but i think the direct approach is nice. What i don't want to do is rock the boat in the percentage stakes (as one such player has) thus forcing the margins down just to get level with them.

any forum suggestions would be welcome in a sticky, i've had a good root around but keep hitting the same ones.

How can I find affiliates by taking the first. I'm not sure how I would start with that.
