I am not a big fan of working with merchants that use the affiliate networks for various reasons.

I do however promote one program on Linkshare and one on cj (many on cj over the years).

I earned about $3k over December for one linkshare merchant (a large one) and they still have not even cut the check. I log into my account and it says "Linkshare awaiting payment."

It's almost March and I am waiting for a December check.

This just confirms my beliefs that large companies don't give a **** about their affiliates, but am wondering if anyone else has problems with Linkshare? I know on cj they at least get an escrow deposit from their advertisers.

This is typical from Linkshare, and it's not the merchant that's driving the problem. Most large merchants are used to paying net30 terms. Linkshare charges merchants after the month is done with net30 terms (in your example, the merchant would have to pay by Jan 30, let's say). Linkshare then sits on the money for 30 days, and then starts their payment process. You should expect to get paid for Dec business thru Linkshare in March. I've been working with Linkshare for the past 2 years from both the merchant and affiliate side, and this is standard practice for them.

This is why affiliates aren't too keen on Linkshare.

Don't bash your merchant. It's probably not their fault.
