Why are you sticking with Chitika?

Have any concerns?

Though I've reduced the amount of Chitika ads at my site, I've decided to stick with them...for now anyway. I'm really hoping they succeed because I like their product and want to give them time to work things out.

I have to wait a month for my first audit so what happens then remains an unknown and is, of course, a great concern. I'm also a bit nervous because so many publishers say they are bailing out. I wonder if Chitika can survive if the exodus is huge.

If you've decided to stick with Chitika too, please share some of the reasons. I'd like to get a sense if I've made the right decision.

thanks!

I've maintained chitika on just one mini site because the targeting is good there. The rest I've removed. November is also my first month with chitika and although I did well I'll only know how much I've really earned after Christmas. I really hate being in limbo that's why I removed them from most of my sites. I might put them back again depending on the audit. Right now am using other cpc programs where I always know my real revenue everyday.

I've removed Chitika from all of my sites/pages. I might put them back eventually, but it all depends on how it all plays out for others here that do keep running them. I do like the variety that they are capable of displaying although their performance was really low where I used them.

Out of sight, but not out of mind.

I guess not many are sticking with Chitika. Or at least they're not saying.

I remain with Chitika as PSA replacement.

They perform bad, but they can not perform worse than Amazon.com.

Actually, I've started going great with Amazon! And, as I said, sure hope Chitika can get things worked out and can rebuild bridges with upset publishers. I really like how the ads work and can be tweaked for my site.

i removed most of the chitika ads from my site (revenue is now about 20% of what it used to be when they were on whole site).

my cut last month was 70% which resulted to income lower than with adsense so i removed it.

the cut was that big probably because i have lot of visitors from unsupported countries (about 50%) and because my ads were optimized (according to adsense's optimization tips) so people might actually confused ads for content so there was probably lot of repeated clicks and also "mistake" click that didn't lead to sales.

So, if above is true for you too, you can expect similar cut. If your ads are not optimized, i.e. ads are sticking out and it's easy to tell ads from content on the first sight so that only really interested users click them ... and if most of your visitors are US based, than you can expect lower cut. Also, recently they introduced alternative ads, so you can just use some blank page as an alternative ad, so your unaudited earnings will come closer to what you can expect after audit (you'll cut off international users) ... if even after that you think it's worth it .. then just keep them.

I replaced my chitika ads again for adsense, and even if now adsense is making less than chitika with assumed 70% cut ... i.e.

(unaudited chitika * 30%) > adsense

i'm sticikg with adsense, as i hope it recovers (it droped considearbly after implementation of chitika) and moreover .. adsense is sure money ... and i don't feel anymore like i want to wait until the end of the month to see what i earned ... maybe once it gets more stable i'll return to chitika but for now i let others experiment and i'm sticking with adsense

I'm not sure I follow you. What do you mean confused Chitika ads for content?

The majority of my site visitors are from the US but I have a good number of visitors from other major English speaking countries, such as England.

I'm still disturbed by Chitikas use of the term "curiosity clicks." Almost every ad one clicks on is out of curiosity based on some interest in the item being advertised. If an ad doesn't make me curious, I'm not going to click on it. When I do, I may or may not buy a product; if the site looks interesting, I may stick around...otherwise I'm not there for more than a few seconds.

They have a search feature, so it compels persons to click on an ad more than once. I'm wondering if the unaudited income those who have disabled the search function have less of a cut.

I will remove all chitika ads.
Since 01.12.2005 my chitika revenue dropped by 70%.
I dont know the cause, but the thing with supported countries it's a big *****

I removed them from a few sites and replaced them with AdSense because they just weren't performing at all.

But I have left them on some more product-centric sites and continue to perform ok there.

i mean the ads were blended within the page ... so the upper link might look like it was part of the page content .. not the ad ...
