I think that the consensus among webmasters here is that a in order to get quality organic SE traffic a website really needs quality unique content, preferably of a kind that people have an active interest in and search for. This type of site will be likely to do well with affiliate programs related to the site content and also with contextual advertising. My question is: what do the pro's use to research appropriate content for development, ie what has not been published a zillion times already, and is material that people want to find. I have used #*$!, which I like, but the problem I am running into is that my target keywords have very low KEI numbers. I like the Overture keyword tool in that it gives you an idea of how popular a string of keywords are. From there you can check in the SE's the quality and # of competing pages. Are there any other methods out there that someone might recommend?
