Need help writing a proposal

I have a content site and virtually all my affiliate sales come from a specific CJ advertiser. My sales for them this year were ~$200K. They pay 10% commission, plus I earned a prize bonus package worth $2000. They've said my site is "one of their Top 10 providers."

They have a statement on their website: "If you're interested in a deeper marketing partnership than our standard affiliate program, please send a proposal...." But where do I begin? Should I put together some statistics and a suggest an increased commission rate? A tiered rate? What is a good rate to start with?

Any and all advice is appreciated!

I'd ask for 15%... expecting them to counter with possibly 12% or 13%. Remember though, each percent is an extra 20k per year :)

Aim for 20%, and sweeten the deal by promising more impressions/visibility/etc. I'm not sure of the ethics of simply cutting CJ out of the loop, and you'll lose some protection in terms of auditing/reporting/collecting, but by paying directly the company will save a significant amount of money.

(I used to know what CJ charged merchants. It's public knowledge. It was somewhere between 1/3 of gross affiliate commissions and 100% of commissions, but I've forgotten.)
