Merchant allowing orders by mail

What is the affiliates view?

Hi

I have a site which is starting an affiliate program. Due to the niche, customer confidence is a big issue - as such, having a physical presence has reassured customers - I found that offering payment by post had a huge impact on sales, up to 20% more sales. The % of sales that actually are mail order is less than 5% of the total - the other 95% are pure online and trackable.

How would you feel as an affiliate with a site which has this as an option? The amount of extra sales it brings in is more than double the amount made by post, but I feel it might discourage affiliates.

Advice/opinion appreciated

How do you ask them to place their order by mail? If you encourage the customer to print the shopping cart page, which has a tracking code on it so you can trck the sale back to the affiliate, then I can not see how any affiliate can complain.

If this is not possible, then I imagine you will get a few grumpy affiliates but for the most part, this is no worse tahn a merchant who has a phone number. And far less likely to happen than someone placing a phone call.
