This is the situation: On specific pages of my content/niche site I will promote a book that is very relevant to the topic of a given page. Merchant A (from CJ network) offers best price for new books, but Merchant B (from LS network) usually offers best price on used books. I'd like to give my visitors a choice.
I'm reviewed TOS for all concerned and I don't see any conflict, but I'd rather ask and get straight talk here before I ask a merchant.
On another note, it seems pretty clear that there should be no conflict between these static affiliate links and my adsense.
Two things I can think of is (A) get an image from publisher if necesary or (B) locate the link to Merchant B (used books) in an "Other Resources" area of the page. I realize option B is not optimal from a promotional standpoint.
I'm wondering if I could get some clarification on frup's statement --
The only problem would come, I would think, if you were using some content from affiliate A. For instance, if the product photo was from affiliate A, or you used text from Affiliate A, and then also linked to Affiliate B, affiliate A would have the right to object, I would think.
Do you mean linking to Affiliate B using Affiliate A's content? Or linking to Affiliate B at all? Would you see a problem with my writing my own comments on the program (which I do anyway), and then saying, "Here are two options for purchasing it:" with links to both? I've thought about putting the LS ad on some tutorials and the amazon ad on others, but I'd think that would look odd to visitors.
Many merchants aren't all that particular and don't check things too carefully and really don't care very much about such things. Others might care a lot. It just depends on who you are dealing with and what you can get away with.
However, just linking to more than one affiliate program isn't usually a problem, generally affiliate program don't demand exclusivity...
