Wondering what constitutes a good RPM for a content site.

My boss thinks that $10 is too little of an RPM (revenue per thousand impressions) for a content site. Can anybody let me know what they are pulling in? I would like to reassure my boss we are doing fine but I really am not too sure.

Depends on what type of content we're talking about. If you are getting a decent CTR and the content of your site can be tied directly to a purchasing decision of your users, then it might be worth looking into increasing your pricing structure. I would personaly kill to be able to get a $10 RPM though, and am flat out trying to justify less than half that at the moment...

Should just follow that up by saying that from what I have read in these forums, it seems that a CPM of between $3~$5 is about the average, so I think you're doing very well.

Thanks, this is good stuff that can lead to raise or a bonus hopefully!
