They are far from being nitwits either. They are intelligent people preying upon the naive and the nitwits. They exploit the "greed" and "the desire to get rich quick" within all of us to sell their solution and to sell a dream (which many are incapable of realizing).
Their techniques came straight from the direct marketing and mail order industries. Sadly, ordinary people buy into it by the truckloads everyday making their businesses very profitable. Marketing-wise, they are indeed gurus, but people who have half the intelligence can easily see something morally wrong with what they are doing.
now that internet has reached the comman man's home, smart people who have been with the internet industry for some time are taking advantage of all these newbees people and exploiting their naivity.
I would not advise you to join any of these programs who ask you to make a subscription and buy thier book which will help you to start your own business.
this is how it works:
Lets say you go to comapny A.
they will give you 10 pages of motivational talk and dreams on how to become rich on the internet, work fomr home, decide your work timngins etc etc ...
when you are motivated they give you a free sign up.
when you do that they will send you a case study for someone who made it big in couple of months on the internet business world.
Now that they have your attention they will tell you they can give you more study material and casestuides if you sign up for their level 1 subscription for $20.
once you do that they will send you more material which is all talk and crap.
It would have some basic tips on how to start your own business which is absolute common sense and anyone who has got 1 years work ex in offline or online industry can tell u the same.
When they send you this material they will also tell you that you need ot pay $10 subscription every month (now who would not do that as you have alredy got enought motivation and dreams fed by them to become rich)
then next thing is they know you wont make money so they assign you other people who are joiing up under you as you sub abd tell you that you will get a percentage of their sale and you need ot coach them as well.
So they set up a tier system and make you start working and motivating others. the chain goes on infinetly and the program owner gets rich and oyu get marginal income fomr the sale made by people under you.
How does the sale happen : its pretty simple
these program owners have one website which is tied up to 100's of shopping networks/products, they give you and you subs links/banners and tracking for that website. New joinees are told to have their own website , so if you are assigned 10 new subs everyday and each one develops a website and placs the comapnies banners on, someone is bound to make a sale or two, on that sale u get your comission which is paltry amount.
But that makes you keep going on for a few months and pay $10 monthly subscription. So you have spent avg $60 before you realise nothings going to happen.
So the program manager has made $60 of you for nothing.
Also note people who join this program are those who just want to make some fast buck and dont have any knowledge of internet marketing.
these fancy gurus are not to be belevied because those who are gurus and good in the internet business ar ebusy working and making millions instead of sharing their knowledge and increase competitoon for themsleves.
having said all that, you might find one genuine program (like the ones u were referring ) but that would be like 1 in a 10000 , so be cautious.

its not the affiliate marketing business that i was talkig about...all I was tlaking about was these GURUS and their fundas.
Affiliate marketing business is a $$$ minting machine if you are proomoting in the right industry
to give you a few the most rewarding and competetive like hell are : gambling/adult and medicines.
Insurance is second big thing.
affiliate marketing is good money making machine but it wont happen overninght. Just dont go to these GURUS thinking they will maeke you reach. having siad that have a nice weekend all of you . time for a scotch..lol
I have spent thousands on courses and products. I have learned a lot from certain people and was not ashamed to send the cr*ppy ones back for a refund.
I'll tell you some things I've learned that I hope can help you.
-Read all kinds of business/sales/management/copywriting/finance books and magazines. Remember you are trying to run a business. An internet business is no different from a bricks and mortar business. The way you reach your customers is the only real difference.
-Don't give up. Most people give up way too early and don't take the time to learn the skills necessary to be successful.
-Don't do what everyone else is doing. Think outside the box.
-Think big picture and set big goals. Don't get caught up in the tiny details so much.
-Read this and other forums. Learn all you can from those with more knowledge than you.
-Work hard and work smart. The amount of work you put in will determine what you get out of it.
This is not an easy business to figure out so don't let anyone tell you that it is. You need a lot of different skills to do this well. There are no shortcuts as far as I know.
I struggled with aff mktg for about one year. Then one day it all just started to make sense. I can't explain what changed but somehow I could just see it so clearly. Then it became so easy to make money. Constant learning and constant hard work is how I got there, with a little help from some "gurus".
Not everyone is going to be successful, just like in every other facet of life. Give it a year or two of constant learning and improvement and you'll probably figure out the secrets and make a ton of money. Once you do, this can be a very rewarding business, believe me. :)
