Applying for affiliate programs

How to apply for affiliate programs when you don't even have a site?

Hi all,

Just a simple question, I think.

Many affilate programs, like those in CJ, requires that you already have a website before you can join up. I'm just wondering if you have to build the site first before applying? What happens after you build it, the affiliate rejects you?

Would like to hear from you experiences

Thanks

I would think that you would have to have a site that has nothing in the way of good taste to actually get rejected by the bigger affiliate schemes.

I would have to think that the big programs do this to make sure your site is within the acceptable guidelines of what they are looking for. They are screening for anything that is racist, hate filled, illegal etc. This is for both parties own good to do this or many merchants would be pulling out if left unchecked.

As an affiliate manager, I manaually check all applications, and I wouldn't approve anybody that didn't have a site to review.

This is on account of fraud prevention, as well as protecting our brand.
