I am about to submit off my site to looksmart but want to do it right the first time and am having a problem with some basic understanding of their system.

The only reason I am submitting to looksmart is for high MSN ranking. I understand MSN applies its own algo to the Looksmart backfills so here is my question..

Regarding the title and description I give to my site in the LS form fields, do I optimize them for MSN?

Do I not have to pay attention to my actual HTML title or META description since MSN gets that info from Looksmart?

Any suggestions on having the editor keep a URL of "www.domain.com/index.html" instead of chopping off the "index.html"?

Keywords in the title are the most important. It's good to have a keyword loaded company name or to submit an internal page of the site with a title that targets your keywords.

The ranking criteria for MSN via LookSmart seems bizarre and subject to constant change but the above seems to work pretty well. If you have a non-profit or informational content consider Zeal.com.

Check and see how many L$ results come up for whatever you want to target and go for the best combo of relevancy, fewest matches, and most searches.
