Does anyone else have problems with overture's turnaround for submitting keywords? They state that it is about a week, however After submitting a batch of keywords, I sometimes have to wait 2-3 weeks, and sometimes as long as a month.

Please define "batch of keywords"

Is that 100 or 10,000

That may explain it.

Our experience "of late" has been 3 to 5 days for 50 to 100 KWs

And considering the editors seem to be using a policy of reject first and think later, 3000 may be a reject red flag. imo

Agreed Mike.
I actually got it straight from the horse's mouth that long lists are not only red flagged, but are sometimes delayed because the editors have to block out a larger amount of time to review the whole file. Smaller submissions get in faster.
I am very happy with my turnaround times. usually better than 3 days. A few times less than 24 hours.

It also helps to leave out "dicey" terms that may not be relevant. If a large portion of terms at the top of the list are rejected, they have been known to toss the whole pile rather than waste time sorting. I'd do the same. AND flag the account for the future.
But then again, maybe I'm a bit ruthless... but nice :)

Shrug. Every one of key kewords are relavent, and located on my page. (mostly electronic part numbers.)The only time my keywords do not get accepted is when there has not been enough searches done on the term.

The only reason I brought this up is that the overture page states a certain number for days for a turnaround. If the turnaround is going to be much much longer because of larger lists, then they need to say that the turnaround will be longer.

That way when my boss says 'Have you submitted those keywords' and i say 'yeah, they said the turnaround is so and so days' and then a few weeks goes by, and my boss wants to know why the keywords are not showing up yet, I can only shrug helplessly and say 'well, mayby in a few more days'.

Since I do not work at Overture I do not know what the avarage size of of lists of keywords they receive. Could be a dozen, could be in the thousands for all i know.

It really does seem to be an average. We just got 10 keywords accepted in an hour or two. If you are submitting huge lists like that maybe you should do them in chunks. It may keep your overall time to a minimum.

I guess overture does not rely on a 'first come, first serve' policy.
