I just sponsored one of my web sites. I am concerned that my competitors are clicking me away??
Does anyone know if the filter methods Search Engines have actually work? Also, can anyone tell me
if they got good results from sponsoring their sites?

I'm a bit confused. I thought you meant paying for an ad on search engines, but it got moved to pay per click advertising. So I don't know whether this responds to your question at all. At the risk of adding more smoke than light...

We tried advertising on Google last year to boost sales of calendars and christmas cards. We were already pretty high for most of our key words except for a someone who searched on something as generic as "calendars" or "cards". We wanted to catch some of these people, and I guess we did. We basically recouped our money and then some, but not a lot. Of course, the website itself was attrocious, but there was great resistance from various quarters to making it even remotely friendly to visitors. So in short

- we got some extra clicks, but not a huge number
- some converted to sales, which was sort of amazing considering the website.

fashezee I have had a good deal of my customer who did pay per click engines ask the same question. I honestly dont know if there is a way to filter them, unless you know their ip and check you logs for it, I dont think there is another way.

It was kind of funny I set up an account for a customer and explained everything in detail, the billing process. Well I'll be darned if she didnt click on it after I told her it would cost her 1.00. I guess they think the links dont work.

I know we filter all of our traffic through several discriminating preventative measures to eliminate the potential for questionable traffic. We do not provide a list of all the measures we take do ensure that our traffic is the highest quality because as soon as one reveals the methods used, there are people who try and get around it. As with any pay per click search engine, it all comes back to the ROI (Return on Investment).
