Last Friday we subscribed to Overture UK, putting in £25. Today the account has a little over £7 left in. Looking at the reports, I can't see details about yesterday, but on Sunday we received 2 clicks priced at £1.80 each. Looking at my logs for yesterday, I couldn't really see much activity, except, somebody had clicked on my keyword twice, within one minute from the same IP.

This never happened to me at Espotting, where my money went down at a nice gentle pace. Is somebody messing around with my listings, or is it just likely people are using MSN and Altavista more?

Just discovered that Topdog clicks on Overture when you do a search engine report. That's worrying!

>Last Friday we subscribed to Overture UK

When beginning a PPC champaign, it is common for unusual click activity to occur.
The competition has not seen your ACT before and will check you out.
It is YOUR cost of playing in the game. Move on.

If after 1000 clicks there is a trend, report it.

No, checked the logs. Some of the clicks were coming from my IP, but at the time TopDog was running a report.

I've written to Topdog and Overture and so far received no reply. *Sigh* Espotting would've written back by now.

Backus, it wasn't even 8:00 a.m. when you posted that last one. I suspect no one at TopDog will read the email until they open for business.

I'm sure they're not ignoring your claim.

Okay, point taken. But Overture UK could have replied.

For Overture, TopDog will first try to decode the URL as it appears in the listing. If that doesn't work, or if Overture has reformatted the listings since we last updated the driver, TopDog will then follow the link by "clicking" on it (virtually speaking). I'll open a ticket on our driver for Overture to make sure the driver is up to date, which should eliminate any "clicking" on those listings for you.

Oh. Well in that case, TopDog cost me £12. *hmph*
