SavePerClick, BidRight, PPC Management and GoToast are Overture™ approved third party bid management services that I am aware of at present.

It appears that certain restrictions have been placed on the approved bid management programs, including update frequency. No doubt more information will be forthcoming over the next few weeks.

Watch out for a shakeup and reduction of number of players in the bid management field.

Anybody at all surprised that Overture is going in this direction?

If I was hit by automated requests that numbering in the (?) I would either chose to ban or to include for payment.

Especially if the refering agent was selling a product whose soul existence was dependant on my service.

If that seller had a product/service that would increase my bottom line by sharing its profits and would increase the costs of the units I was selling (bids) I would more than welcome them into a vendor aggrement.

As consumers we need to be aware of the ramifications of such partnerships. The value of services rendered can swing to the positive or negative side.

>Watch out for a shakeup

Thanks, Robert. And what a good choice of wording, too! There are so many changes and developments going on all at once it is something like an earthquake, with some foundations being shook up.

We had a 4.5 earthquake here the other night, with a number of aftershocks following. When they hit, you feel the floor moving under you. It's a very insecure feeling - you can never know if "this is it" or if one will follow in a few minutes that will end up bringing the whole building crumbling down around you (and on top of you).

It's a good analogy - with every shakeup there are a series of aftershocks that in this case could shake up the very foundations of how some people are functioning and doing business. It's an interesting time right now, there's no telling what the next day will be bringing.

I wonder what the ramifications are. Does this mean that in the future they may "ban" desktop applications, or not allow "unauthorized" management companies? I don't like this...
If we cannot monitor bids for our clients, I cannot recommend bidding.

Thanks but lets not go there. This forum is border line existing as it is at the moment. Between software vendors, affiliate vendors, directories, and every kind of ppc affiliate program you can think of, this forum is close to being a lost cause.

I really thought we could discuss ppc topics without url drops left and right and other forms of promotion. If it's not someone innocently asking questions that drag in software vendors, it is someone people having to defend their product, we've seen it all. We've probably deleted more spam out of this forum that the remainder of the forums combined.
