i posted this question as an add-on to the earlier Quick Hit post, but didnt get any replies, so i figured i'd separate it out...

anyone know what you have to do to get a "Quick Hit" listing activated in Overture? is it powered by realnames?

for those not sure what i'm talking about, see here:

I wish I knew the answer to that question, Seo.

All I can find about it is that it is 'editorial content'. I can't find anything about how you get your company's name as a 'Quick hit' result.

I do know that RealNames are given to big publically traded companies at no charge (for their name only), so it wouldn't surprise me if RealNames is the source of the quick hits.

I have found no documentation which states that, however, and the supply of Quick Hits could just as easily be Yahoo's corporate page index.

*shrug*

If you plan to contact Overture about this, I'd love to hear the answer.

Well I decided to give them a call and ask them.

It's not real names. It is a program that Goto started, but has since discontinued. Some of our company names are listed, but some are not. I was hoping I could get the others added, but they said they will not be adding anymore.

I also asked if they will be removing the original ones, and they didn't know. She just said they won't be adding any new ones.
