I know they are not, but check out this link:
find what search [findwhat.com]

They are bidding .70 cents a click for "search engine optimization" at their main competitors site...just thought it was worth noting.

Now they are in the SEO business, I guess. Or did the folks at FW just let that slip on accident?

All I can say is, wow. Combine that with the growing feeling top bidders on Goto are not paying the listed price, and this is disturbing news.

GoTo has raised the bid to .82! I wonder how they'll go? This is too funny.

{edit} They're also bidding .14 through Sprinks at

Yep, Goto are actually targeting other companies which compete for this term and others. Goto make a lot of their business from SEO companies, so getting the attention of any not using them is important to them.

surely, they are just targeting their target market. They are thinking the people who search for "search engine optimization" may also be interested in getting high on rankings (not a bad presumption). So what they are realaly saying is forget about "pure" SEO... just use pay for click instead to get your ranks. BAsically they are tring to convert people who are thinking of hiring SEO experts, to pay for click instead.

Now I wonder if they would pass their own "relevancy" test. Their entry for that keyword has very little to do with what we define as SEO, but 100% to do with PPC.

GoTo already boasts that they are more cost effective than banner ads. Maybe sson they will be boasting they are more effective than hiring a SEO guy!

[or gal]

Just read all the threads on all the boards where people are MOANING about their Yahoo! problems and consider why people hire a consultant for placement of their sites.
