Yahoo settles lawsuit today. Doesn't seem quite right the lawyers get 99% of the money.

That is unfortunately how it always works.

I'm wondering if it will take another class action to get them to allow dynamic text in the URL's :)

It looks like marketing campaign to me. Those kind of lawsuit settlements are just used to send 'reminder' emails to advertisers that have already completely opted out from receiving YSM-related emails. I bet many of them will be lured to log into their long forgotten accounts and burn some extra money. :)

Yahoo will create an "Ad Placement Option" for advertisers to guarantee their ads will appear only on sites owned by Yahoo or sites designated as "premium" partners.

Interesting, as I don't see how anything is going to change. That is left wide open to interpretation, what Yahoo deems "Premium" and what I deem "premium" can be 2 entirely different things.

I look forward to a day when they pull their head out of their behinds and offer us what Google has for year and years. The ability to choose NOT to be on ANY of their PARTNER pages, premium or not.
