Does anyone know any more highly competetive words on GoTo.com where advertisers are paying large click-thru rates(above $5.00 per click)?
Our limit is $ 0.75.
Checking che click-trough rate it is much better to look for lower bids in phrases of three four words.
It is a big job to look for so many phrases, but it values and you risk less than unfair competitors click to you just for fun.
Use all the instruments in searching good keywords and related keywords. The first two Goto listings in Altavista score fine in these days.

Some of the finance ones got crazy but have settled back down.
Then there are some competitive keywords that are realatively low (kelly blue book, and the whole "car quote" neighborhood). Just a matter of the roi.
Any other above $4? or $10?

I think the dot-com graveyards must be filling up now! I mean, realistically speaking, who can turn a profit THAT easily through website traffic? I just can't see the legitimacy here...
New question for all those involved here too... How much has YOUR highest bid per click been, and what's the phrase you've become addicted to?

I'm no longer freelancing for a start, well, not full-time anyway. I have an interest in dooyoo.com now and love it. I'm able to get involved in new techniques and the whole spectrum of marketing, not just SEO, and additionally am involved in product development which, well, I love it.
Er, this is kinda off topic though eh? Maybe if I mention that I bid no more than necessary on Goto and Goto UK, with even primary branding keywords kept down to around £0.08 or $0.15 then no-one will notice we're just chatting eh? ;)
Add to that the fact that virtually my entire lifestyle has had to change, and 'spare' time has been in very short supply. :)
Hmmm, better say something intelligent about Goto again I suppose now ... er ... goto is an absolute lifesaver if you have to promote a dynamic site with query strings in the URLs even while you are getting the database reworked to have static URLs.
Goto is currently giving me around 50,000 referrals a month, at an average cost of around $3,000 per month, (or £2000 in my local currency) but that is for a huge site with a vast array of keywords - mind you, I've barely started yet.
When a hard drive dies containing something that your business relies on and there is no backup, it's no different than watching a small fire burn your house down, you don't have time to shop around, to nitpick over the price, you've got to call the fire department.
This may explain why it could be imprudent to bid on expensive terms. While the PPCs may not intentionally want to promote scams, it sure could be a profitable business for those willing to %#?* us webmaster.
From FindWhat:
"The first is a basic revenue share based on your search traffic--we typically pay out around 40%, depending upon the volume of traffic from the
partner."
So it stands to reason that the higher the bids the higher the scam ratio - imo
