Are PPC links spidered?

I don't recall reading this anywhere else, so I figure I'll ask.

Are links at PPC engines, such as GoTo, Sprinks, and Findwhat, spidered by the engines, specifically Altavista, Google, Inktomi, and Excite?

I'm just not sure how spiders treat those. Specifically, I'm interested in Sprinks. Does anyone have experience with this?

I have little experience with Sprinks, they did not work out for the short project I used them for, but I *DID* notice, when doing a search for my links in AV, pages from About were listed as pointing to my site. LONG after the compaign was over, and the Sprinks were gone. I never had other links from those Guidesites. This leads me to believe that if you have a Sprink paid listing on an About page when the spider gets there, you get a link referral for a short while... Since About is more of a directory, they may be spidered more regularly. The others, I doubt it. YMMV

A link lookup at AltaVista sometimes shows the primary Sprinks listings from guide sites (top 5 positions). A link lookup on Lycos sometimes shows the secondary sponsored pages (msprinks1.htm, msprinks2.html, etc).
