Microsoft withdraws proposal to acquire Yahoo

man, i feel sorry for any shareholder who went long on Yahoo! on Friday.

Well personally I feel Microsoft is better off. Concentrate of building better dev tools for the masses and let the creative people bring the web to life.

I made a bet with someone that Yahoo would outsource to Google and not be bought by Microsoft, $1000 to his charity if I lose and $1500 to mine if I win.

Sweet indeed, I'd have to say I think I've followed this story more than anything else in a long long time. Just finished listening to another podcast with so-called industry insiders (Microsoft experts as it were), who still believed that a deal was going to happen any day now.

It will be interesting to see how this affects Yahoo stock values, maybe a dip at first and who knows, this could have been the kick Yahoo needs.
