We've recently decided to start using Yahoo again after the new system went live but have had poor results so far. Yahoo used to be one of our main sources of traffic a few years ago but due to budget problems we ended up switching our account off.
Anyway, we created a new campaign/ad groups etc and used our existing performing google model for keywords adgroups etc. Our google account currently has a ctr of approx 12% and a conversion rate of approx 22%. Yahoo however has been falling far short. The click through rate is still similar however the conversion rate is shockingly low at around 6%....
I've tried changing all all the keywords to standard match but it hasnt seemed to make a difference.
Does anyone have any tips of ideas as to way the same site/campaigns/adgroups/keywords work so well on google but convert so very poorly on Yahoo?
Many thanks in advance
We are having a nightmare with Panama but are trying different things to see if we can improve the ctr and conversion rate.
It does need a rediculous amount of time to solve something that should take seconds to work out.
I've switched contact match off and I've been dropping keywords that generate impressions but not clicks. But still the main keywords generate clicks but convert so poorly when compared to any other medium we have....
Apart from trying a different landing page I'm pretty stuck.
Looking at the impressions yahoo generates, do they display ad's differently to other cpc engines? I mean theres a massive ammount of impressions for standard match keywords with less than a 1% ctr, bearing in mind these are very target keywords.
I just dont understand whats going on.
Is there anyone out there that gets a good ROI from yahoo?
