I updated to new Yahoo PPC and began seeing an increase in spend during the day hours, so after much looking I finally found the reason.

When you update: the accounts are split up in accounts as in the old system but these accounts are split into campaigns: each campaign has keywords under them: that said what yahoo did was in every account at the campaign level you are opted into the content match search and advanced search.

Advanced search, is a close match to the typed keyword or a part match to this keyword or term, this said I find advanced brings in to much traffic not looking for our services thus driving up the cost and lowering the conversions. -This is my opinion and not necessarily right for all-

I do not do content match in any PPC campaigns on any search engine as Content match just doesn't convert and the cost isn't justified. -Again this is me and might work for you-

So I have to go to each campaign and opt out of content match and advanced search taking up a considerable amount of time as when you have a 1000 keywords numerous sites it is time consuming and just plain sneaky if you ask me.

So beware when you upgrade you will not have a choice in this and will have to go to every campaign to opt out of the content and advanced search.

That is if you choose to do so.
