i think only the lawyers got the yahoo settlement money.

its real and i have also received one. lets see in which direction this moves. as per mail, Nov 20 is final approval to the settlement date. This is going to be very similar to Google’s click settlement recently.

Honestly I think is not really worth it if you haven't spend hundreds of thousands of dollars, mainly because the time will take out of you and the possible court expenses will make it a real pain. In the other hand, in the letter I received the lawyers are getting a few million dollars for the lawyers fees if authorized by the judge. If there is something wrong yahoo should come forward by offering an apology and some credit back to whoever claims it, I'll bet that will be a lot cheaper.
