Broad matching vs Exact matching?

Here's what I'm trying to do, and I have yet to figure out how with Y!

I want to advertise on:

** widget **
but not
widget

For example, I want my ads on:
blue widget
widgets around the world
happy widgets
how does a widget work

But not on the search when people simply type in:
widget

I submitted a huge list of keywords to Y! only to have them be denied for overlapping with "widget"

Thoughts/suggestions?

Turn off broad match and list all your long tail search terms, but do not list just widget.

And be aware that Broad Match needs to be diabled in more than one place...
it seems the YSM admin IS actually "out to get you!"...be aware.
