keywords accepted/not accepted

How do they determine this?

Let's say I bulk submit 10,000 keywords. How can they then the next day determine that 50% are acceptable and 50% are not? Every time all 10,000 are legitimate and on topic. Obviously a human can't go through all 10,000 and determine which are good and which aren't. Do they have a "keyword algorithm" that searches your site for appropriateness of keyword and then decide which keywords they'll give you and which they won't? How do you get around this? Let's say you have a keyword that keeps getting rejected, but it's totally legitimate. Can you get that keyword approved by just mentionning it somewhere on your landing page? Thanks for your thoughts/answers etc!

Dave.

Hey Dave, I posted a while back about the process, which I understood quite a bit back then. it may be dated, but should give you a good idea of the filters they put on it.

One of the most annoying things is that you can keep on resubmitting the denied terms and usually some will slip by that didn't the first time. On a recent account we had to submit some terms 3-4 times to get them approved.

Sometimes I submit 30 keywords all pointing to the same landing page and several of the keywords get disapproved saying "site broken". Of course, many of the other words get approved. Then I have to resubmit the disapproved ones again and again until their idiotic systems properly "see" my landing page for each submitted keyword...

Hi Werty and Rhino....thanks for your responses. I've talked to many a fellow Ov advertiser about this and they say the same thing. The only solution is to re-submit over and over until their "system" accepts the keywords...and even then they may never be accepted...

I thought I'd also ask. If you are having problems getting keywords into Ov and you are forced to submit over and over again, which is the best method, Bulk submission, or 500 at a time? In your experience, which of these two submission methods works best for getting hard to get keywords into Ov? Thanks!

Cheers,
Dave.

If you are a platinum advertiser call the support number and they can force a manual review for you.

Yahoo stinks. 3 days ago I created a new campaign, and just found out that 90% of my keywords were denied.

I have a site dedicated to cheap airfares. An example: 'cheap airfares' was denied. 'air force travel' was approved. What the heck?

Meanwhile all my keywords are fine on google and msn adcenter.

Thats the last time I bother with Yahoo. To manage your way through their stinking interface only to get the vast majority of keywords denied. This has happened before on other campaigns as well...I had just forgotten why I never use Yahoo and decided to replicate a successful campaign there.

Yahoo obvously doesn't want my business, so they can kiss
my ***.
