advanced match not working for me?

I am using Sponsered Search.

I have bid on the keyword "WIDGET" and it shows up in the 4th spot.

However, when I search for "WIDGET chairs" it doesn't show up.

I have advance match type on.

Shouldn't my ad still show up if someone searches for the phrase "WIDGET chairs"? Isn't it supposed to with the advance match on?

Or do i need to actually input each variation of the keywords into the system?

Sorry for the dumb question but just wanted to double check. Thanks in advance.

That extra word (chairs) can make things go one way or anther.

If it's a modifier (cheap, blue, chicago area), then your ad will show.

If it changes the nature of the search (repair, OEM, lawsuit), their matching algorithms may block it.

If it's relevant to your market / activity, add it as a new keyword and focus it's ad and landing on it.

Advanced match is not what you think it is (anymore). If you look at the defition they have now it says -- it drives additional targeted leads to your business from our high-quality partner network of sites (which is worse than the Content network) -- it is not like Google's broad match, which is what it was formerly....
