I have seen our cost per day double ever since Yahoo came out with the earnings report last week. I have had the same keywords same position for months and the cost has been pretty stable until last week it has doubled now. Has anyone else seen this as I have searches that I am 11 and 12 positions in getting really hammered now and I am very dubious as to if this is real traffic or Yahoo letting the dogs loose.

My clients conversions have been declining steadily for some time.

I would check your logs to see where the traffic is coming from. Do you have content ads switched on?

No I don't just to make sure I called to see if for some reason yahoo had accidently switched it on. What is so disturbing is the keywords getting hit the hardest are ones that never got the traffic before or in these numbers. I have seen were they have added another top search or 4 on the top and 8 on the side so you can be in 12th position and still be on the first page. I deleted the words that were getting hammered btw the conversion is way down at the same time and as I delete them the strange thing is another one takes it's place with a large number of clicks. I guess I will keep deleting them till I run out of terms.

Earlier in the month I had a keyword at the 60 cents and the #1 ranking...I was getting about 3-4 clicks a day because it wasn't that competitive a term. But when I ran a report for the last 3 months I noticed that it was losing money...so I lowered the bid to 10 cents and that brought me down to the 7th position.

As a result of this adjustment, I started getting 30 clicks a day for the next 3 days (until I turned it completely off). Hmmm...talk about suspicious. I've asked Yahoo to research how this could happen; can't wait for their findings :)

Sounds like one of your competition is out to drive up your budget or out of the game altogether. ..sad part is that it's working
