Yahoo ditching long listings?

Your punctuation now your worst enemy...

So I'm looking at our ads today, and I notice something. Now, this might have been going on for a while. Tell me if it has been, but now all my ads showing in the blue bar have been truncated down to the first period. So now I have one sentence, and even though Overture knows what the rest of my ad is, it won't display it.

Granted I haven't been paying attention since I'm the only one who does PPC for our company and most of my time is spent tearing my hair out with Adwords but is this something you guys have been noticing? Thanks.

Our account rep told us that they are "constantly testing" and they will do this on occasion. They are of course not obligated to notify us or report back to us on the results of the testing (read the fine print of DTC user agreement).

I have been fine with it up until I took a look at our listing on Black Friday (day after turkey day) and found that they were testing again! Biggest day of the year for merchants, and Yahoo decides to test.

Can I get a short on that Yahoo stock?

I am seeing that today (12/15) for the first time as well. I can't see how Yahoo would think they will increase clicks on ads if the ads are shorter, but what do I know.

I guess I will go and change my ads to have a very long first sentence, hopefully I can trick them.
