Max CPC

Is it possible to pay more than my set max CPC?

I downloaded an intraday activity report for one of my key phrases becuase the average CPC did not look right. I am currently have a max bid of $.65 on this key phrases but the intraday activity report showed me paying $2.00 for this click; is this possible.

If you've "recently" lowered the bid (and the way Overture is, "recently" could span several days) then it may be that Overture hasn't yet accepted your change and you are still being charged at the old bid price.

I have not lowered or even changed my bid within the last month. The best ROI I get comes from paying no more than $.65 per click, not $2.00. So I still don't know how I could be paying three times what I want to pay.
