Outstanding Bugs since the system enhancement

Please post any issues you are currently experiencing with Yahoo since this past weekends enhancements (although advertisers probably wouldn't call them enhancements).

One client of mine is exeriencing the following 2 problems.

1) Various keywords for some reason are not being displayed. We'll have our bids set to 2nd place and other advertisers ads are being displayed, but not my clients ad. This is NOT due to a budgeting issue either. It is an ad serving issue that Yahoo has acknowledged, but not fixed.

2) Sort of tied into the first problem, but in the DTC we have a number of terms where the DTC says were are 1st place...but when I search on Yahoo we are showing up 3 or 4. This is affecting a handful of terms for us.

Anyone else experiencing this? I'd check...you probably don't even know it if it's affecting you.

I can tell you our average daily charges went to pot along with our conversion ratio and cost per conversion. We've been averaging $650 a day in charges during the weekdays and $420 on the weekends. After the changes it went through the roof. On Friday we spent 2,438.63, Saturday 1,888.78 and Sunday 1,740.53. On Monday we dropped the bids on everything until we figured out where the problem was so we only spent $880. Please keep in mind that the weekend is normally our slowest traffic time. We did NOT see any more conversions than normal. They actually were lower. Our cost per conversion went from $11.32 to $58.95.

I called Overture today three times and got three different answers to the issue (imagine that). The most plausable was that their system changes caused it. That those were not actually visitors. That I was overcharged. I was told that a ticket would be put in to the investigation department and I would probably just be refunded the difference between those charges and my average daily charges. The person I spoke with also added that our account was one of many many accounts this had happened to.

I suggest everyone go over their accounts with a fine tooth comb.

I would recommend looking over your accounts VERY closely as well. And be very tough with them regarding credits, etc. Companies never offer you money back you have to be a little forceful and persistent. You complain to enough people and typically you get some satisfaction.

Same here.

Got clicks of $220 on 22 Aug although my dailiy limit is $170. Now my ads are not showing!

Is this click fraud or a system bug? Have emailed them and let's see what they say.

Hi,

I'm seeing:

1) Higher than normal clicks on Aug 22.

2) Awful slowdown / not working at all.

Very frustrating. As a previous google adwords user, Overture is a nightmare.

I had an increase in clicks for one account on Monday and didn't think much of it. Ads didn't show at all yesterday and thought that it was just a budgeting issue. I have had this before where the system just shuts the ads off for a day to catch up and save funds for the rest of the days in the month. However, today the ads still aren't showing and they should be.

Also, the keywords are not lined up in alphabetical order in the manage bids section anymore. Add to that I can't even get to the log in screen at the moment, you can see that it's not going too well today! :(

System is COMPLETELY messed up. All reporting is 3 note 3 days behind. I suspect this is click fraud time as I am sure Yahoo hasn't a clue as to the reporting as we all very well know they never have as far as I know had any fraud, as I have never recieved an credit even though I proved it my self. I would suggest everyone to back off or shut down their accounts till they can get it together.

I reduced my budget (on the rare attempt that I was even sucessful logging in) way down while this settles out.... I have two days that are still missing reporting at all. No clicks or charges for two days while they've tracked days before and after. I don't know what that will end up being but I'd be suspicious any which way since it's now 5 days later.

On the "Money Manager" screen, my daily spending is showing a value 40% higher than my daily budget (also on that same page). I have not modified my budget or bids for several weeks -- so there is a serious problem with their system.

My account is also being charged several times a day to deposit more money, which is only supposed to happen when it is too low. Right now, my account balance is about 10x higher than my normal deposit amount.

They have something REALLY out of whack with their automated billing process.

No response to an email I sent yesterday. I will be calling.

Just received this gem after logging in, mixed in with the rightbar above the "System Message" box:

Can't insert page '/acctStatus.do' : EJB Exception: ; nested exception is: javax.ejb.EJBException: nested exception is: weblogic.jdbc.extensions.PoolLimitSQLException: weblogic.common.resourcepool.ResourceLimitException: Configured maximum limit of (10) on number of threads allowed to wait for a resource reached for pool epsPool

Wow.

He, he. I came here because I just saw that error message, too. Hey, now that we're seeing explicit error messages, maybe some of the smarter folks on this board can debug for Yahoo. They need all the help they can get.

I am trying to get words for my site at approved and I am getting no response. At first all my keywords which had to do with blogging were denied. I applied again but have heard nothing. In addition the on off keys on my account are grayed out despite the fact that overture/yahoo charged me $30 and this has been over a week ago!

how do I remove the URL? I can't find an edit button anywhere. What it said in the help section is irrelevant. Please help soon as I have to go to bed as I work tonight and need a nap first. Great now on this message where I don't need to edit it, the link to edit shows up! By the way thanks tigger.

Just started going over all of my accounts and noticed some billing issues. According to the account summary in the DTC over the past week content match cost me around $40. When I ran a report to see how much content match cost me over the last 3 months it was only $2. I called Yahoo and they immediately issued me a credit for $40 no questions asked. I was very surprised at that. So I would suggest everyone go over their accounts thoroughly. On a side note, we should all send Yahoo a bill for all of our time that we are spending on analyzing their mistakes.

"On a side note, we should all send Yahoo a bill for all of our time that we are spending on analyzing their mistakes."

That's a very hard sell to them; I've successfully pulled it off getting paid for a couple of hours of investigation I did that turned up errors on their end (this was a year ago)...but I had to escalate it very high up. And it was not for a lot of money; I wanted the money based on principle obviously.

The money manager doesn't work too well as far as budget. It's almost always about 40-50% higher than I request. Sometimes higher than that. So if I want to actually spend a $100, I "budget" at around $60-70. In comparison, Adwords is always within a $1 for me...so it is possible to do well.
