Do you feel Yahoo just cares about $$$$ now?

Does anyone else feel Yahoo(Oveture) is 100% about making money for themselves at all costs? They consistently have widespread system issues, reports are constantly delayed, other frequent inconveniences and they never send any emails saying 'we appreciate your business or patience as we work through or system issues'. They never proactively acknowledge any problems and I always get into an argument when I discuss with them how many additional hours it takes me to perform these tasks because of their technology issues.

I just feel like they do a very poor job thanking advertisers for all the money we spend and all the 'patience' they ask us to have with them. I think an across the board small credit to all advertisers is long overdue. They've done across the board credits as a gesture of gratitude back in the summer of 2003. I think another gesture is way past due.

Yahoo! is like most businesses, they only care about the cash and don't care about customers. That's one of the reasons why so many small businesses can survive today.

I get the same feeling with the tobacco companies. I don't think they really
care about cigarettes any more, they are just in it for the money. - Larry

I'm just pointing out that they seemed to be much more customer satisfaction focused 2-3 years ago. Not coincidentally, that's when they were really just starting out and attracting customers :)

I think the people who work at Yahoo and Google are under enormous pressure to increase revenues. The P/E ratios on those stocks are so high that they have to show very high growth rates to justify them. This has led to

1) Adoption of many dodgy affiliates
2) Refusal to take advertiser complaints seriously - to the point that they lie to you. (I do not make this charge lightly.)

Yahoo and Google were always out to make money even before they were public companies, but now they are so virulent about increasing revenues that they've changed their business practices.

I don't care about "thank yous" from them. I really just want them to clean up their acts and stop signing up affiliates that send us fraudulent clicks.

I don't think they care unless you are spending five figures or more a month.
