When my boss asks for 10,000 clicks for a certain campaign, I often won't even bother with Overture if Google can get me the traffic...and the only reason is that adwords is so much easier to use and navigate through...
anyone else agree or disagree?
Not very user-friendly either.
Have been putting up with the slowness for years. Does anybody know if Yahoo has plans to improve the control panel?
If not, then I think we're going to close down our account. It has just taken me an hour to add a few words to our 'excluded keyword' list because their site is so slow and keeps giving message saying 'server error - please try again later'. Never once had such a warning on Google or other big PPC search engines.
1) Google allows you to choose the region your ads appear.
Overture forces every possible click on you, including those clicks that are from out of country.
2) Google lets you choose wether to be shown on affiliate/content sites.
Overture/Yahoo! forces every peice of crap click on you. ( From my analysis this system runs rampant with click fraud from out of country affiliates. )
3) Google has your ad up and running in literally minutes.
Overture requires someone to review your listing, and if it is declined gives you some rediculously vague reason why. Sometimes it takes weeks to get a certain keyword included because it takes them 2-3 days to review the listing every time you resubmit.
4) Googles customer service and responses are far faster and superior to Overture. When contacting google regarding some listings that were not appearing they got back to me within 4 hours.
When we contacted Overture we had to wait 2 days for our first response, and another 2 days for our second response. ( So much for paying $200 for preferential treatment, which is a total rip off in my opinion )
The only thing Overture has going for it is Yahoo.com. If yahoo.com was smart they would allow their advertisers to choose wether to be shown via their "Partners" websites or strictly on Yahoo.com. I think the overall quality of clicks their clients would receive would be better and in turn their bids would go up.
As you can tell I am a very dissatisfied Overture customer, unfortunately its the only way to get on yahoo.com.
Cheers and good luck.
