Bidding on specific keywords and general keywords

I would like to bid on two different keywords, one of which is contained within the other. So it would be something like

listing1 (bid=.25): wordA
listing2 (bid=.10): wordB wordA

Obviously I want listing2 to be used when possible. How does Overture handle this?

And as I'm typing this, it occurs to me that I should be able to add wordB as a negative component (or stop word) to listing1. Does that sound right?
