I had a situation with Overture
My March budget was set to be £1 per day
March 1st = £7
March 2nd = £19
They then charged my credit card as I had run through my entire monthly budget in two days. I paused the campagian and asked for an explanation and compensataion for the overclicks.
I have now got a reply and it seems it was my fault!
Overture = "there were several advertisers with the same issue that neede to investigated to establish if there was a problem"
so not only me with these problems
Overture = "We would like to inform you that your approximate daily budget is a target only"
yes, but the target is for your system, I can accept that any system needs flexibilty, but to allow the system to bill for 19 times the daily budget is crazy.
Overture = "The click charges you actually incur on a given day should be close to the daily amount you have budgeted"
okay 19 times?
Overture = "However, if you find that your actual daily expenditure exceeds the specified budget, our smoothing feature will compensate and help control your spend on subsequent days so that your monthly spend comes very close to 30 times your daily budget."
So the smoothing feature meant that on the second day of March they thought they would bill my card again and "smooth" it for me. I have stopped my campagian and will try again in April.
This was done on a budget of £1 per day. I feel sorry for other users that have budgets running in the hundreds and thousands. You need to keep a very close watch on your Overture accounts.
