Overture Percision Match Offline Cat Gets Clicks

Doesn't Offline Mean No Clicks and No Charges?

I have set several categories to Offline status. I noticed yesterday that one is receiving clicks/charges.

The category shows "offline" on the Manage Categories page and it also shows the Clicks and Total Costs for the offline category.

I wrote the support desk and have heard nothing back. Am I doing something wrong? Any similar experiences?

I received a message from Overture Client services this morning confirming that the category has gotten a couple of clicks since being put off line. The money involved is a whopping 30 cents, but they are going to have their "development team" look at the issue.

I'd noticed the same thing. I always assumed it was somebody clicking with an out of date page, or someone who had bookmarked the overture link.

The click-through was 20+ days after the category was made inactive. I think cache would have been overwritten by then, or at least Overture would simply not forward the user by then.

Overture should not honor the link if I take it off line. But, it'd be pretty difficult for someone to bookmark the link. The browsers redirect to the destination page quickly.

I'm still voting for another type of software anomaly.

It's not hard at all to bookmark an Overture link. Remember that you don't have to actually click a link to add it to your bookmarks.
