Top tips for starting out with overture?

When I started out with Adwords I found a great thread in the Adwords forum for newbies:- 'Top tips for Adwords'

Overture seems much more complicated, I can't find one here for Overture, so can we start one?

Unfortunately the link isn't working :-(

I've read the pdf userguide, but I just can't get my head round it.

To me Adwords feels much more natural, I was able to get up and running very quickly.

I'm struggling to get to grips with Overture, even adding negative keywords seems more difficult than it need be.

I'm not sure whether its their user interface or my old brain!

I'll persevere, with the help of the experts here, it should eventually become second nature.
