Overture phishing scam?

I received an email that said "Share your ideas and get $10" and purported to be from overture but was from another company. In the past I've seen many "surveys" form 3rd parties supposedly taking surveys on Overture's behalf so I supposed this was also for real, but it wasn't. The survey never asked for an address or anything to send the money. Course I christmas treed it just to see if it was for real or not. It wasn't.

What gives? If this WAS for real it was poorly executed, and even if it WASN'T for real I had to give Overture the benefit of the doubt because of their past use of 3rd parties to conduct surveys. They should never have gone down that path in the first place, all surveys should have been sent from @overture.com email addresses, through overture.com servers and then hosted on an overture.com address.

Anyways I'm writing to see if anyone got this "survey" as well and if they'd heard anything else about it. I wrote overture about it too so we'll see.

Cheers

I've sent this email to the spam filter as it doesn't look legit. If it is legit - then it is poorly executed, and I doubt the response it very good.

That same survey company just sent me a followup email reminding me to take the survey and get my $10.

I took the survey already. When I click the link in their followup email it tells me that much as well. They never asked for my name and address to send me the money and the fact that they keep simply signing their email as "Overture" makes me shake my head in disbelief.

I haven't heard back from overture yet, I'll let everyone know when/if I hear back from them.
