Hello all,

This is one of my first runs with overture, and besides being hard to get listings into, im noticing very little traffic, low impressions, and such.
On google adwords i would have thousands of impressions daily, on overture i have had 55 impressions in two days.
Is this normal or am i doing something very wrong?
:) thanks

A few things:

Keywords don't always port well from Google to Overture and visa versa (mostly I've found that they do, but not always)

Maybe people searching on the Overture search network aren't looking for your products. Check some of your well preforming Adwords keywords with the Overture keyword tool to get the number of searches per month - check this against their impressions on Google.

Check your CPC's - Overture can sometimes be quite a lot more expensive than AdWords - maybe you need to bid higher in order to get more traffic.

Because Overture is so hard to update many people use automated bidding tools - these could be pushing your listings down because they're set to maintain a certain position.

Overture can be used to generate the same and more traffic than Google quite effectively. B2C there's nothing to beat Overture conversion rates IMO.

Overture showed quite a bit of traffic for one of the main keywords, so I assumed it would generate a bit more than it has..however today it finally picked up.
15 clicks and already a sale..google never did that for me, so maybe overtures pain in the *** procedure is worth it :)

thanks for the comments.

I've had just the opposite effect. I get much more traffic from adwords then overture, by leaps and bounds. I have the broad off on adwords and the broad on with overture and adwords gives me 8 to 10 times the traffic.

I think it depends on many things like what field your website is in, how you are using the description in the ad, or what kind of keyword phrases you use. Asking others about this really can mislead you depending on your situation.

We find that clicks generated by Precision match on Overture and Adwords placed on Google's search network ( as opposed to Google's content network) convert at a far higher rate than from ads that are not generated by a user performing a search.

For our websites, Overture's content match and Google's content network generate more casual visitors, than qualified leads.
