Have been an Overture advertiser with a US account for years (and UK account for less) but as my particular widget is just as likely to be sought after in other countries I finally decided to sign up with Overture in Spain.
24 hours later all my initial submissions have been declined with the reason:
"We have noticed that you are affiliated with Google. Overture does not allow pay-per-click search engines or their affiliates to advertise in our listings. As a result of this guideline, we are unable to accept any of your search terms.
Excuse the inconvenience."
The inconvenience being that I'm now 50 quid poorer with little opportunity of using these funds as I have no intention of dropping Adsense (the whole thing is woefully inconsistent as the same submissions have been approved by Overture US and UK)
Has anyone been here before? Do I stand any chance of having my money refunded? Many thanks for any opinions...
Regards,
Mac
Have you been using your US and UK overture acc to bring in traffic to your adsense site?
And was adsense set up before or after your initial launch of keywords through overture?
It could be because you had adsense going before you put your keyword listings through overture.
I have looked through the advertisers terms of use and couldn't find anything apart from a vague sentence about them using their discretion.

Yep!
> And was adsense set up before or after your initial launch of keywords through overture?
*Possibly* after as far as the US account is concerned (to be honest I can't remember) but definitely before with regard to the UK account.

Fair point, and possibly correct as far as the setup of the US account is concerned (although I've certainly added keywords to the US Overture account after using AdSense)

OK, thanks. I think I'll mail Overture and ask for the account to be closed down and my money refunded (as I'm not going to be able to spend it)
If anyone's interested I'll let you know what happens, just let me know.
Cheers,
Mac
I submitted 6 new keywords to Overture this morning with Adsense very prominently at the top of the page.
I'll let you guys/gals know what the editor says about this.
If they decline my listings, I'm going to be upset - I've paid them $1000's of dollars over the past 3 years.
From what I gather, the policy as to whether to approve/decline listings based on AdSense code seems to be inconsistent between individual Overture country sites, perhaps even between individual editors.
Cheers,
Mac
